Price references and how reports are interpreted
Checked 9 October 2026: ContentConcepts lists plagiarism editing at US$0.03 per word (US$30 per 1,000). Wordvice’s academic standard editing table lists US$0.044 per word for seven-day delivery (US$44 per 1,000). IPC’s scoped starting fees are lower than those published reference rates; services, report access and turnaround differ. Automated subscriptions are a different service model.
Turnitin explains that AI-writing and similarity percentages are independent, and AI detection can be inaccurate. IPC uses your supplied report to guide a provisional scope, with the passages reviewed before invoicing. No live detector or report-generation service is connected on this page.

Proofreading, academic editing or manuscript editing?
Proofreading suits a complete draft whose meaning and structure are already clear. It focuses on grammar, spelling, punctuation and language consistency.
Academic editing adds attention to sentence clarity, terminology, transitions and readability. It is useful when the research is complete but the explanation needs work.
Manuscript editing considers the structure and presentation of the argument as well as language. Comments can identify unclear objective alignment or missing explanations; the researcher supplies and approves the evidence needed to address them.
What should you prepare before requesting an edit?
Provide an editable document, an accurate word count, the required English style, your target journal or university guidelines, and your preferred deadline. Say whether references, tables and appendices need editing or formatting.
Explain which sections are final and which are still developing. If the draft uses AI assistance, retain the original sources and check each citation against the source before submission. Your journal or institution’s disclosure requirements guide the final submission.
How do you prepare a useful reviewer response?
Keep each reviewer comment beside your response. Explain the action taken, identify its location in the revised manuscript and give an evidence-based reason when you disagree. A calm, specific response helps the editor follow your revisions.
Crosscheck the response against the manuscript: a promised change should actually appear in the cited section. IPC can edit the language and consistency of your existing response while you confirm the scientific content.
What should you prepare for data analysis or collection?
Analysis: Prepare your research objectives, a de-identified dataset, variable labels or a codebook, sampling information and any existing outputs or supervisor comments. State the software and reporting style required. Share confidential files only through the route agreed with IPC.
Collection: Specify planned completed responses, country and region, towns or sites, questionnaire length, languages, dates and how participants will be reached. Say whether participant recruitment, travel, translation or clinical sample handling is needed so the full budget can be scoped.
