Begin with reflection
Read the passages in your preferred Bible translation. Name one decision or responsibility that needs wisdom today. What would care, honesty and diligence look like in that situation?
Pray through three prompts
- Gratitude: Thank God for a person, opportunity or lesson that has helped you serve.
- Wisdom: Ask for understanding, patience and the humility to listen before deciding.
- Service: Pray for the people affected by your work and for the courage to act with integrity.
Take one step
Choose one practical action: seek advice, keep a promise, correct a mistake or encourage someone. Return to it at the end of the day.
God, give us wisdom for today’s responsibilities. Help us listen carefully, work honestly and serve with compassion. Show us one faithful step to take, and give us the courage to take it. Amen.
Set the tone · 5 minutes
Each person names one financial hope and one pressure. Listen without interrupting. Discuss your own situation privately; sharing personal answers with a group is optional.
Talk together · 20 minutes
- What did our upbringing teach us about money, giving and asking for help?
- Which needs and goals should we plan for together in the next three months?
- How can we support extended family while being honest about our household’s capacity?
- What would a willing, jointly understood approach to generosity look like for us?
- Which decisions need a conversation first, and how will we raise them without blame?
Agree one action · 10 minutes
Choose a manageable step both of you support: a weekly money conversation, a shared priorities list or a discussion before a new family commitment. Agree when to review it. Either person may pause the conversation and return to it at a calmer time.
Pray for honesty, contentment, compassion and unity. Each person can name one way the other helped them feel heard.
Begin with what helps · 5 minutes
Think of one routine or person that makes family life more manageable. You may reflect privately or use a fictional example; sharing personal circumstances with a group is optional.
Reflect and discuss · 20 minutes
- What do the passages suggest about asking for wisdom and carrying one another’s burdens?
- Which small routine could bring more consistency to mornings, homework or bedtime?
- What helps you listen to your child while also making room for your own rest?
- Who in your trusted circle could offer one specific, practical kind of support?
- Which responsibility can wait, be simplified or be shared this week?
Choose one step · 10 minutes
Choose a realistic routine for the coming week, or ask a trusted person for a specific form of help. Agree a suitable time to review what worked. Begin with what your household can manage.
Pray for wisdom, patience and people who offer dependable care. Give thanks for one strength you bring to your family.
Start with a scenario · 5 minutes
A school changes an event date, and both parents need the same update. How could they share the information clearly without asking the child to carry messages? Use this fictional scenario or reflect privately; participation is voluntary.
Reflect and discuss · 20 minutes
- What would careful listening and constructive words look like in a practical update?
- Which information needs to be shared about school, appointments or agreed care routines?
- What communication channel and response time would make those updates clearer?
- How could you pause a tense exchange and return to the practical question calmly?
- How can adults keep a child out of disagreements and avoid using them as a messenger?
Plan one clear update · 10 minutes
Draft a brief, factual update about next week’s arrangements. Include what has changed, what response is needed and by when. Keep any plan consistent with existing parenting arrangements; this discussion guide does not replace legal advice.
Pray for patience, clarity and care for the child. Reflect on one communication habit you can improve, without requiring reconciliation or disclosure of private details.
Start with a scenario · 5 minutes
A group chat asks everyone to forward an embarrassing rumour about a classmate. Some friends say you must join in to belong. What choices does the person in this story have? Use fictional examples; nobody needs to disclose a private experience.
Read and discuss · 20 minutes
- What might it mean to set an example in speech and conduct at school or online?
- How can a friendship make it easier—or harder—to do what you believe is right?
- What could you say when a group pressures you to harm, mock or mislead someone?
- Which trusted adult could help if pressure, bullying or an unsafe situation continues?
- How could you include or encourage someone without joining harmful behaviour?
Try one response · 10 minutes
Practise a calm response such as “I won’t share that; let’s check it first” or “I’m going to step away.” Choose one kind, achievable action for this week. A parent or leader can offer a private follow-up route through the host’s usual arrangements.
Pray for wisdom, courage and friends who encourage good choices. Ask for the humility to seek help when you need it.
Notice your starting point · 5 minutes
Name one strength you are developing and one practical challenge in study, work or community life. You may discuss a general example rather than your own circumstances.
Talk together · 20 minutes
- How do the passages connect purpose and faith with action and service?
- What skill, habit or relationship would help you prepare for your next step?
- What would integrity look like when an opportunity involves money, influence or a difficult shortcut?
- Where could you make a useful contribution while continuing to learn?
- Who could offer honest feedback, mentorship or encouragement?
Choose a seven-day step · 10 minutes
Pick one achievable action: update your CV, practise a skill, ask a mentor a focused question or help with an agreed community task. Identify the time or resources needed and set a day to review what you learned.
Pray for wisdom, perseverance and opportunities to serve. Encourage one another’s next step without promising a job, income or a particular outcome.
Understand the audience
Identify who you are serving, what they need and what the host organisation permits. Primary school, secondary school, college, university and community programmes each need an appropriate approach.
Plan a focused session
- Listen: Speak with the school, fellowship or community host about its priorities.
- Choose: Set one achievable purpose and select age-appropriate material.
- Prepare: Assign a lead facilitator, a practical activity and time for voluntary questions.
- Follow through: Agree a host-led next step, such as a supervised learning session, reading resource or community service activity.
Review what helped
Ask the host what was useful, what needs changing and whether the next step happened. For school programmes, agree permissions, supervision and follow-up through the responsible institution.
“By the end of this session, our participants should be able to ___, and our host will help us follow up by ___.”

Experience behind the programme
Curated by
Nicolous Njoroge.
Faith & family content curator · Mission outreach facilitator
Nicolous brings experience in missionary outreach across primary schools, secondary schools, colleges, universities and communities, alongside the development of prayer topics and couples’ discussions, with age-appropriate sessions for teens and young adults.
Family Connect brings that experience into a consistent resource format: a clear purpose, Scripture references, thoughtful questions, prayer, a practical action and facilitator notes.
How the programme will be curated
Organise the original topic archive, check Scripture references and attribution, and seek theological and facilitation review. Pilot collections with willing couples, single parents, co-parents, teen groups, young adults and host fellowships, then use feedback to improve clarity and usefulness.
A future AI-assisted resource finder may help select sessions from approved material. The public preview contains written guides. Paid packs and facilitation are by enquiry; an AI adviser, self-service paid library and subscriptions are planned later stages. Teen sessions are arranged through parents or a responsible school, church or community host.
